Description of the circuits offered in each Central American country

GUATEMALA

Guatemala City Tour
Departure: Monday to Friday at 9:00 and 14:00. We will visit the most important places, the residential area, La Cañada, the handicraft market, the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the relief map and the civic center. Duration: 3 hours.


Atitlan and Panajachel
Departure: Thursday and Sunday at 07:00 a.m. Land transportation, stopping for 15 minutes in a local cusine restaurant of the Tecpán area. We continue to Chichicastenango and visit the market. You will also have the explanation of the Quiché indigenous rituals. Lunch. Then we visit Panajachel (Lake Atitlán) having some time to admire its natural beauty. Return to Guatemala city.


Antigua
Departure: Tuesday to Saturday at 09:00 a.m. After a 45 minutes drive we will visit the most important places of this colonial city with a complete explanation of each one of them. Capuchin Convent, Cathedral and University, Popenoe House, Jade and Silver Factory, San Francisco, and also the towns of Ciudad Vieja and San Antonio, Aguas Calientes.


Tikal
Welcome at the airport. Bus transportation to the Tikal National Park where you will visit: The Q complex, tha Main Square, the Center and North Acropolis, the Lost World, the Temple IV, Museum of History. Lunch included). Return to the airport or chosen hotel.


Copán
Departure 05:00 a.m. Land transportation, stopping for breakfast in Hondo river. We will contunue to the Honduran border and after fulfilling the migratory requirements we resume our trip to Copán where we will visit the main Acropolis, the Main Square, the Ball Game and museum. Includes lodging.

EL SALVADOR

San Salvador and Suchitoto
When visiting San Salvador, we will have a tour through the residential areas, the city center, historic monuments, tourist atractions and commercial areas.
Suchitoto is a colonial city at the north of San Salvador. You will see its cobblestone streets with its pastel color façades, with ironworks doors and from where you will have a magnificent view of lake Suchitlán.


Joyas de Ceren and San Andres archaeological ruins and lake Coatepeque
Joyas de Cerán is one of the most important pre-Columbian settlement and it is buried under the ashes of one Caldera volcano eruption about 1400 years ago. This place has been declared world heritage by UNESCO. Thereafter we will visit the San Andrés ruins and the picturesque lake Coatepeque wherer we will enjoy its great view.


Trifinio
It is a beautiful endemic orchids garden located at 2417 mt (7900 ft) of altitude. The name is due to the fact of being located in the border of three countries (Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador). It is also known as Montecristo and the place for the people in love.

BELIZE

Xunantunich (The Stone Maiden)
This ceremonial center is located 80 miles from Belize city. We will take a boat in San José Succots which departs daily from 8:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. The most relevant structure in this place is El Castillo, a 130 ft high Piramid at the south of the main complex which has been partially excavated. We will climb the piramid using an espiral path. From the top it is possible to have a beautiful view of Belize and even some Guatemala views.


Blue Hole
It is a natural pool in the Caribbean waters about 120 mt in depth and with impressive submarine caverns. This is one of the favorite destinations for the snorkeling and diving lovers.


Belize Zoo
About 30 miles away from Belize city the zoo houses about 100 local species such as the Tapir, the Mono Aullador (black howler monkey), the Red Parrot and the Jaguar.

HONDURAS

Copán
It is one of the most impressive and beautiful archaeological ancient sites of the Maya world which exists since about 1200 years BC. It houses the biggest number of Maya sculptures. We will visit the most important buildings of Copán which are around the Acropolis: Templo XI y altar Q built by Yax-Pac the last Copán king. Visit to the museum. In 1980 Copán has been declared World Heritageby UNESCO.

San Pedro Sula:
City founded by the Spanish conquistador Pedro de Alvarado in 1536. Today it is the capital of trade in Honduras and the second largest city. We will admire its modern buildings located near the tourist attractions including tha Casuco National Park, the History and Anthropologic museum and the San Pedrano Cultural Center.

COSTA RICA

San José
We will visit the most important tourist attractions in San José, the capital city. The National Theater built in 1897 is a true architectonical jewel inspired on the Paris Opera. El The Jade museum houses interesting pre-Columbian objects as well as contemporary art works. The tour also includes the Metallic Building, the National Assembly, the Supreme Court, the Justice Tribunals and many other interesting goverment buildings. We will also visit the most important residential and commercial areas both the old and modern ones,Costa Rica University the Spanishness fountain some handicraft markets, the National Museum and the Democracy Square.


Poas Volcano and Sarapiquí River
At an altitude of 2708 mt (9000 ft) we will reach the Poas crater with an amazing diameter of 1.5 km (1 mile) and 300 mt (1000 ft) in depth that makes it one of the biggest in the world. This volcano is surounded by an exuberant cloud forest and a beautiful lagoon with endemic vegetation. All this together contrasts with the clouds of gases and ashes coming from the crater fumaroles. Thereafter we will visit the Sarapiquí tropical region, a green world waiting to be discovered, where we will find beautiful waterfalls with foamy waters. It is very relaxing to contemplate the rainforest vegetation with its exotic fauna and species such as the quetzal bird, tucans and many other. We also have a boat tour through the Sarapiquí River, famous for its good fishing.

PANAMA

City and Panamá Channel
Tour through the colonial and modern sectors of the city. Visit to the Ruins of Old Panamá and the Miraflores floodgates where we will see the channel operating. (about 3 hrs.)

Kuna Indians Reserve / San Blas Islands
Air transportation from Panama city to the Marco Gelabert airport. Tour through the San Blas island and some of the 365 caribbean islands where we will discover the Kuna traditions and lifestyle.
